Sufia 1.3.0 released

We are pleased to announce the release of Sufia 1.3.0

This new release includes:

Depends on Hydra::Controller::DownloadBehavior
Upgraded to hydra-batch-edit 1.1 which includes session-less batches in hydra-collections
Moved most of the Dashboard behavior into Sufia::DashboardBehavior to enable overriding
Added Model to_s instead of using display_title
Added after delivery hook to contact form controller
Removed the version page
Various bug fixes

Hydra Head 6.2.0 released

Fix mismatched arguments in DownloadBehavior

Yale becomes Hydra’s 18th partner

We are delighted to announce that Yale University has become the Hydra Project’s 18th formal partner.

Susan Gibbons, the University Librarian, tells us that Yale made a decision in fall 2012 to use Hydra as a development platform for their digital collections. The first Hydra-based collections are due to go live in September 2013 and there is an “aggressive plan” to migrate dozens of additional collections from obsolete platforms to Hydra in 2014 along with several new ones. Many of the collections involve complex objects, non-Western languages and have highly granular access requirements.

We greatly look forward to the collaboration. Welcome Yale!

Sufia 1.2.0 released

We are pleased to announce a new release of the Sufia gem. 1.2.0′s notable improvements are:

DownloadController uses load_instance_from_solr for speed improvement
Raise an AccessDenied error if a download is not allowed rather than show an image
Autoload the datastreams directory
Set default variables (fits_path, id_namespace) in the engine config.

Sufia 1.1.0 released

We’re pleased to announce a new release of the optional Sufia gem – 1.1.0.

Sufia is a component that adds self-deposit institutional repository features to a Rails app. Sufia is created with Ruby on Rails and builds on the Hydra Framework.

New releases of Hydra-head, Active-Fedora and OM

We are pleased to announce new releases of our Hydra-head, Active-Fedora and OM (Opinionated Metadata) gems:

Hydra-head 6.1.0

Fixed Solr 4 compatibility issue in construction of policy clauses in Hydra::PolicyAwareAccessControlsEnforcement.
Removed references to dictionaries that are not in the default solrconfig. Config templates are now in active-fedora.
hydra-access-controls requires blacklight.
Upgrade guide removed — see wiki for upgrade notes.
Added .yardopts so that rdoc.info generates correct API documentation.
active-fedora upgraded to 6.1.

Active-Fedora 6.1.0

Give a list of classes that decend from ActiveFedora::Base
ActiveFedora::Base.exists?(nil) now returns false. Fixes #56
Removed extraneous solr configs.
Deprecated get_values_from_datastream. Fixes #52
Added ActiveFedora::Base.decendants
Added some sensible defaults to the solrconfig. Removed comments about old fields.
active_fedora_model solr field corrected to be single-valued.
Fixed fields for solrconfig permissions.
Deprecated Attributes#update_datastream_attributes.
Delegate registry works with descendants of ActiveFedora::Base, not just direct subclasses. Fixes #59
New ActiveFedora::Auditable mixin – provides access to Fedora audit trail.

Active Fedora 6.0.0 released

Active Fedora 6.0.0 has been released including:

New solr schema with descriptive field suffixes
Added support for RDF lists
RDF does not index terms by default
count is now a scoped query.
ActiveFedora::Base.reindex_everything
RDF terms can store empty string
Access properties by using hash notation.
