WGBH, based in Boston, MA, is the US Public Broadcasting System’s single largest producer of web and TV content (both prime-time and children’s programs). WGBH Media Library and Archives manages a collection of media materials spanning 60 years of WGBH TV and radio productions. They have a long history of working with the academic community to advance technology in the areas of media access – from educational access, public access, to access for the disabled. WGBH also leads the public media community with media preservation and digital asset management (DAM). They have been building on-line digital libraries for over 10 years and developing a DAM system for over 15 years.
Currently, WGBH is developing a DAM for media materials focusing on preservation needs using the Fedora-Blacklight-Hydra stack.
